Gaoling town develops village-level collective economy

In recent years, Gaoling town in Du'an Yao autonomous county, Hechi has taken various measures to strengthen and develop its village-level collective economy. To date, the collective economic income of 20 of the town's 22 villages has reached more than 50,000 yuan ($7,320.11) each.

The town has built a long-term management model. It has formulated and issued the implementation opinions on the development and expansion of the village-level collective economy. In addition, the town has linked the economic benefits of village cadres with the developmental level of the collective economy by establishing an incentive mechanism.

The town has focused on promoting villages with different foundations, different types, and different models, increased cultivation efforts, as well as summarized experiences. At present, the town has formed six characteristic industry demonstration villages, including Nongming, Jiaquan, and Yijiang, which have played a leading role to other villages.

Gaoling has also broadened the growth channels for the village-level collective economy. Based on actual conditions, the town has guided villages to create demonstration sites for planting and breeding of trees and fruits suitable for the local climate, as well as has developed characteristic industries in mountainous villages according to the characteristics of each village.
