In recent years, Bama town of Bama Yao autonomous county, Hechi has vigorously supported and served the innovative development of the private sector economy. In April 2020, Bama town was honored as one of the first batch of Guangxi Private Economy Demonstration Townships.

In 2019, Bama town helped four individual businesses transform into enterprises and one small company upgrade to an enterprise above designated scale. The town has 6,750 individual businesses and 1,702 private enterprises. The growth rate of private investment in Bama town in 2019 was 75.16 percent, which is higher than the annual growth of private investment in the county by 56.12 percent.

In order to help private enterprises, the town has issued a business environment improvement plan, implemented one-stop service for handling approval and registration items of enterprises, as well as organized representatives of private enterprises to participate in symposiums on economic operation and overall development, in which officials listened to their suggestions and opinions.

The government also strengthened cooperation with private enterprises to help the town's poverty alleviation efforts. For example, professional and technical personnel have been organized to carry out training on camellia oleifera planting, chicken breeding, and electric welder technology for impoverished people in the town.
